| Personal Injury: Claims: Medical Negligence |
|
This kind of claim can arise from inadequate care by doctors, nurses, dentists and other health professionals. To bring a claim for medical negligence, you will need to prove that the care provided by the practitioner or hospital fell below the expected standard and as a result you have suffered physical or psychological injury. At MLM we are very experienced in the health sector and solicitors within the team have acted for both defendants and claimants in a large number of medical negligence claims. We currently act for several NHS organisations in South Wales and it would not be appropriate for us to act for a claimant in a claim against one of those organisations. We can however act for claimants where the treatment took place in other parts of the country. We are also able to act for claimants in bringing claims against doctors in private practice, along with GP’s and other professionals who are not directly employed by the NHS, as we do not generally act for such individuals. If you are unsure of whether we can act for you then please do not hesitate to Contact Us. In some cases we are prepared to take on medical negligence claims on a “No Win, No Fee” basis. We usually offer a free initial consultation so that we can take full details of the claim and decide whether we are prepared to act on this basis. However, we do not undertake publicly funded work and if you believe that you may qualify for public funding you should contact the Law Society, who will be able to recommend a solicitor who holds a franchise for this type of work. If you are unsure of whether you qualify for public funding then please visit the CLS Direct website on www.clsdirect.org.uk for further information. |
