During his time as an in-house solicitor at broadcaster, S4C, Aled handled the drafting and negotiation of extremely varied commercial contracts, including significant, high-value rights contracts such as television rights agreements between the Welsh Rugby Union and the Welsh F.A. and S4C with respect to its broadcasts of Welsh rugby and football . He also had responsibility for all legal work of S4C’s commercial subsidiary, S4C International (which had a turnover of £15m), and for which he handled numerous complex co-productions, including an animated co-production with fifteen countries. He was a member of the S4C Programme Compliance Committee and S4C representative on the board of the National Assembly for Wales Broadcasting Company Limited.

In 2000 Aled joined the Company and Commercial department of Bevan Ashford and continued as such when MLM was established. He advises on corporate and commercial matters including drafting and negotiation of business sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, business re-organisations and venture capital financing transactions as well as advising generally on company law and intellectual property rights issues. He advises clients operating in the media, entertainment, betting, gaming and leisure industries, including some of the largest betting and gaming companies in the world, broadcasters, and numerous independent television production companies.

Aled is recommended in the two leading guides to the legal profession, "Chambers" and "The Legal 500" as one of the leading individuals in his field in the United Kingdom.

Aled is a Trustee and Honorary Counsel of Urdd Gobaith Cymru. He is also a Trustee of Menter Caerdydd, a member of the Court of the National Eisteddfod of Wales and a member of the Royal Television Society.

He is a fluent Welsh speaker and semi-professional musician. His other recreational interests include watching rugby, playing golf and skiing.
