Mike Baggott's office as a Notary Public is quite separate and distinct from his practice as a Solicitor. As a Notary, Mike's function is to prepare, witness the signing of, authenticate and certify deeds and other documents for use anywhere in the world.

Many notarised documents require British Foreign and Commonwealth Office endorsement ("the Apostille") before they are acceptable in the country where they are to be used. Sometimes the document also requires the endorsement of the relevant London Embassy/Consulate of the country. The process of obtaining these endorsements is often called "legalisation". Mike advises upon the need for legalisation and will, if required, arrange for documents to be legalised for clients.

Mike has acted as a Notary in relation to:

• Powers of attorney which enable acts to be carried out abroad
• Shipping and banking transactions
• Commercial agreements relating to the music industry and intellectual property rights
• Certifying the existence of U.K. companies, the identity of their directors and their ability to validly enter into contracts
